When Basil Hallward and Lord Henry entered the studio, they saw Dorian Gray sitting at the piano with his back toward them.

He was turning the pages of Schumann’s Forest Scenes.

“You have to lend me these pieces, Basil,” he called out.

“I want to learn them.

“They’re wonderful.”

“That depends entirely on how well you sit for me today, Dorian,” Basil replied.

“Oh, I’m tired of sitting for portraits.
